When you discover mold in your Parker home or business, you need a remediation team that responds quickly and follows strict containment protocols from the first minute on site. Atlas Contracting & Environmental Solutions brings EPA-certified technicians, industrial-grade HEPA filtration, and proven antimicrobial treatments to every mold project in the Parker area — from single-room bathroom mold to large-scale commercial remediation.
Our mold remediation process begins with a thorough inspection of your property. We identify the full extent of contamination using moisture meters, thermal imaging, and air quality sampling equipment. Understanding exactly where mold has spread — and where moisture is still active — is essential to designing a remediation plan that solves the problem permanently rather than just addressing what is visible on the surface.
Inspection
Every Parker mold remediation project starts with a detailed inspection. Our technicians examine visible contamination, probe behind walls and above ceilings, and use infrared thermal cameras to detect hidden moisture pockets that feed mold colonies. We document every finding with photographs and moisture readings so you have a clear record of the starting conditions.
Containment
Before any demolition or removal begins, we establish full containment using polyethylene sheeting and negative air pressure machines. This critical step prevents mold spores from migrating to unaffected areas of your Parker property during the remediation process. HEPA-filtered air scrubbers run continuously throughout the project to capture airborne particles.
Removal
Mold-infested drywall, insulation, carpet, and wood that cannot be salvaged are carefully removed within the containment area. All contaminated materials are double-bagged in sealed disposal bags and removed from the property following EPA and Colorado Department of Public Health guidelines. We remove only what is necessary — preserving structural integrity wherever the material can be effectively treated.
Treatment
After removal, all remaining structural surfaces — framing lumber, subfloor, sheathing, and concrete — receive a thorough application of EPA-registered antimicrobial agents. These professional-grade treatments penetrate porous materials to eliminate the mold root structure and leave a residual protective barrier that inhibits future colonization. This is far more effective than consumer-grade products or bleach.
Attic Mold
Parker attics are particularly vulnerable to mold growth due to temperature differentials between heated living spaces and cold roof sheathing. When warm, moist air enters the attic through ceiling penetrations, bathroom vents, or recessed lighting, condensation forms on the underside of the roof deck. Over time, this sustained moisture creates ideal conditions for mold colonies that can spread across the entire attic surface. Our attic remediation includes ice blasting or media blasting to remove mold from structural wood without damaging the lumber.
Crawl Space
Crawl spaces beneath Parker homes are frequent sources of mold contamination. Ground moisture vapor, foundation cracks, plumbing condensation, and poor drainage combine to create persistently damp conditions that support aggressive mold growth on floor joists, subfloor sheathing, and insulation. Our crawl space remediation includes complete contaminated insulation removal, HEPA vacuuming of all structural surfaces, antimicrobial treatment, and moisture barrier installation to prevent recurrence.
Moisture Control
Mold remediation without moisture source correction is temporary at best. Our Parker remediation projects include a thorough investigation to identify every moisture source feeding the mold growth — whether that is a roof leak, plumbing failure, HVAC condensation, inadequate ventilation, or foundation water intrusion. We coordinate with roofers, plumbers, and HVAC contractors as needed to ensure the underlying moisture problem is resolved before we complete the remediation.
Drying
After mold removal and antimicrobial treatment, the affected areas must be dried to safe moisture levels before any reconstruction begins. We deploy commercial-grade dehumidifiers and air movers calibrated to the specific volume and conditions of each space. Moisture readings are taken daily until wood framing, concrete, and other structural materials reach target levels. Rushing this phase risks creating conditions that allow mold to return within weeks of remediation.
The most challenging mold problems in Parker homes are not in the rooms you live in — they are in the spaces you rarely visit. Attics, crawl spaces, and behind-wall cavities create enclosed environments where moisture accumulates and mold grows unchecked for months or even years before anyone notices. These hidden contamination zones require specialized access techniques, containment strategies, and cleaning methods that differ significantly from standard room remediation.
Atlas Contracting has extensive experience with the specific mold challenges Parker properties face. From homes along the Cherry Creek corridor with elevated water tables to properties in the Pinery and Stonegate neighborhoods where attic ventilation deficiencies are common, we understand the local building conditions that contribute to mold growth and tailor our remediation approach accordingly.
Every mold remediation project we perform in Parker follows a structured, documented process based on IICRC S520 industry standards. This protocol ensures consistent, thorough results whether we are remediating a small bathroom mold issue or a whole-home contamination event.
01
We perform a complete visual and instrument-aided inspection of your Parker property. Air quality samples and surface swabs are collected and sent to an independent laboratory for species identification and spore count analysis. Moisture mapping reveals the full scope of water damage behind walls and above ceilings.
02
Full containment barriers are erected with negative air pressure. Contaminated materials are removed, structural surfaces are HEPA-vacuumed and treated with antimicrobial agents, and the space is dried using industrial dehumidification equipment until moisture readings reach safe thresholds. Every step is documented with photographs and readings.
03
Post-remediation clearance testing confirms that airborne spore concentrations have returned to normal levels. You receive a detailed clearance report documenting the before and after conditions, lab results, and our scope of work — essential documentation for insurance claims, real estate transactions, and your own peace of mind.

We had a roof leak in our kitchen caused by a roofer. Rob came out right away and assessed the issue and worked with myself and the roofer. That day he had made a plan for how the job would go, and began setting up equipment to keep my family safe. He walked me through every step of how the job would go and kept my husband and I informed throughout the process. He made sure that the toddler and newborn in my home would be safe throughout the entire demo process. I cannot recommend this company enough.

This is an honest place. There are so many disreputable companies out there in this industry, but Atlas is not one of them. Quick work, proper abatement to prevent contamination, and friendly service all come with the fairly priced Atlas contract. Nobody wants to have this work done because it usually means things have gone sideways in your home. That said, if you do, call Atlas Contracting and Environmental Solutions; the company is ACES!!!

Common questions from Parker homeowners about mold testing, removal, and prevention.
Mold remediation costs in Parker depend on several factors, including the size of the affected area, accessibility of the space (attic versus crawl space versus living area), whether structural cleaning or material removal is required, and the extent of moisture damage. Small-area remediation projects typically start at a lower price point, while extensive whole-home remediation involving containment, material demolition, antimicrobial treatment, and structural drying can represent a more significant investment. Atlas Contracting provides detailed, written estimates after an on-site inspection so you understand exactly what the scope of work includes before any remediation begins.
Several warning signs may indicate the presence of toxic black mold (Stachybotrys chartarum) in your Parker home. Persistent musty or earthy odors, especially in enclosed or damp areas, are often the first clue. Visible dark green or black spotting on walls, ceilings, baseboards, or structural wood is another strong indicator. Health symptoms among household members — recurring allergies, sinus congestion, chronic coughing, skin irritation, or unexplained respiratory issues — may also point to elevated mold spore levels indoors. The only way to confirm the species and concentration is through professional air quality sampling and surface swab testing analyzed by an independent laboratory. Atlas Contracting offers comprehensive mold testing to give you a clear picture of what you are dealing with.
Yes. While Parker and the broader Douglas County area have a semi-arid climate, indoor mold problems are surprisingly common. The primary culprits are indoor moisture sources rather than outdoor humidity. Plumbing leaks beneath sinks, behind walls, or under slabs create ideal mold growth conditions that go unnoticed for months. Poor attic ventilation traps warm, moist air against roof sheathing, leading to widespread attic mold. Basements and crawl spaces in Parker often experience moisture intrusion from snowmelt, irrigation runoff, or foundation cracks. Even humidifiers, condensation on HVAC ductwork, and improperly vented bathroom fans can create sufficient moisture for mold colonies to establish.
The timeline for mold remediation depends on the scope of contamination and the areas involved. Smaller, contained mold problems — a section of drywall behind a bathroom vanity, for example — can typically be addressed in one to two days, including containment setup, removal, treatment, and initial drying. More extensive remediation projects involving multiple rooms, attic spaces, or crawl spaces generally require three to five days of active work. This includes establishing full containment with negative air pressure, removing contaminated materials, performing HEPA vacuuming and antimicrobial treatment of structural surfaces, and running industrial dehumidification equipment until moisture levels return to acceptable thresholds. Atlas Contracting provides a timeline estimate as part of every project scope.
Insurance coverage for mold remediation in Parker depends primarily on the source of the moisture that caused the mold growth. If mold resulted from a sudden, accidental event covered by your policy — such as a burst pipe, an appliance failure, or storm damage — your homeowner's insurance will typically cover the remediation costs. However, mold resulting from long-term maintenance issues, gradual leaks, poor ventilation, or deferred repairs is often excluded from standard policies. Some policies also have specific mold damage caps or riders. We recommend contacting your insurance provider early in the process. Atlas Contracting works with insurance adjusters regularly and can provide the documentation, scope of work details, and moisture readings that carriers require to process your claim.
Using household bleach on mold is one of the most common misconceptions in home maintenance, and it can actually make the problem worse. Bleach is effective on non-porous surfaces like tile or glass, but most mold growth in homes occurs on porous materials — drywall, wood framing, insulation, and carpet backing. On these surfaces, bleach kills only the surface mold while the root structure (mycelium) penetrates deeper into the material and continues growing. Additionally, bleach is primarily water, so applying it to porous wood or drywall introduces more moisture into the material — the very condition mold needs to thrive. Professional mold remediation uses EPA-registered antimicrobial agents specifically formulated to penetrate porous surfaces, eliminate the root structure, and create a residual barrier that inhibits future growth.
Yes. Atlas Contracting offers comprehensive mold testing services for Parker homes and commercial properties. Our testing protocol includes air quality sampling, which captures airborne spore concentrations in both affected and control areas of your property, and surface swab testing, which identifies the specific mold species growing on materials. All samples are sent to an independent, accredited laboratory for analysis. You receive a detailed lab report identifying the types and concentrations of mold detected, along with our professional assessment of what remediation steps are recommended based on the findings. Testing is particularly valuable when you suspect mold but cannot see it, when you need documentation for insurance or real estate transactions, or when you want post-remediation clearance verification.
Clearance testing, also called post-remediation verification (PRV), is the final step that confirms the remediation was successful. After all contaminated materials have been removed, surfaces treated, and the space dried to acceptable moisture levels, an independent assessment compares airborne mold spore concentrations in the remediated area against outdoor baseline levels and unaffected interior areas. Visual inspection confirms that all visible mold has been eliminated and that containment barriers were effective. When spore counts fall within normal ranges and no visible contamination remains, the project receives clearance. This verification gives you documented proof that your Parker home is safe to reoccupy and that the remediation met industry standards set by the IICRC S520 protocol.
