Methamphetamine contamination is one of the most common and most misunderstood environmental hazards facing Colorado property owners today. Whether a property was used as an active production lab or simply housed heavy meth use over months or years, the chemical residue left behind penetrates drywall, carpet, insulation, HVAC ductwork, and even concrete surfaces. Standard cleaning cannot remove it. Without certified decontamination, the property remains a health risk and — in most jurisdictions — cannot be legally occupied, sold, or refinanced.
Single-family homes, condos, townhomes, and rental units where meth residue has been confirmed through testing or disclosed during a transaction. Atlas handles full-scope decontamination from initial assessment through clearance documentation.
Apartment buildings, motels, commercial spaces, and mixed-use properties where contamination may have migrated between units through shared HVAC systems, wall cavities, or common areas. Atlas isolates affected zones and prevents cross-contamination during the remediation process.
Banks, asset managers, and investors dealing with contaminated properties that need clearance before they can be listed, financed, or occupied. Atlas provides the documentation package that lenders and title companies require to proceed with the transaction.
Atlas Contracting & Environmental Solutions has spent over fifteen years handling meth-contaminated properties across the Colorado Front Range — from single-room rental units in Aurora to large multi-family complexes in Denver and Colorado Springs. The team understands that meth cleanup is not a cleaning job. It is a regulated environmental remediation process that requires certified procedures, proper waste handling, and independent post-remediation verification.
Every meth decontamination project Atlas takes on follows a structured protocol: initial testing to quantify contamination levels, a detailed remediation plan, controlled decontamination work, and coordination with an independent industrial hygienist for clearance testing. Property owners receive complete documentation — test results, scope of work, waste manifests, and the final clearance report — so they can satisfy regulatory requirements, insurance claims, and lender conditions without chasing paperwork after the fact.
Colorado's meth contamination standard is among the strictest in the country at 0.1 µg/100 cm². Properties that test above this threshold cannot be legally occupied until certified remediation brings levels below the standard and an independent clearance test confirms compliance. Atlas structures every project to meet this standard on the first clearance attempt — because failed tests mean additional cost, additional time, and additional stress for property owners who are already dealing with a difficult situation.
Whether the contamination is limited to surface residue on painted walls or extends deep into porous materials, ductwork, and structural cavities, Atlas has the equipment, training, and project management capability to handle the scope. The company holds EPA Lead-Safe Certification (No. NAT-F222667), is registered with DUNS 117517457 and CAGE CODE 62FR3, and maintains the insurance coverage and safety programs that commercial and government property managers require.
Documented results across hundreds of contaminated properties in Colorado.
Meth lab cleanup requires a documented, phased approach that satisfies both safety requirements and regulatory compliance. Atlas follows the same structured process on every project — whether it is a single bathroom in a rental unit or a full building with contamination in every room and duct.
Phase 1
Atlas reviews existing test results or coordinates initial sampling to establish contamination levels across the property. Swab testing identifies which surfaces, rooms, and building systems exceed Colorado's 0.1 µg/100 cm² threshold. The assessment defines the contamination boundaries, identifies materials that require removal versus chemical decontamination, and produces the remediation plan that guides all subsequent work.
Phase 2
Before decontamination begins, Atlas establishes containment barriers and negative air pressure to prevent residue migration to unaffected areas. HVAC systems are sealed or isolated. Porous materials that cannot be effectively decontaminated — carpet, pad, heavily contaminated drywall, insulation — are removed and staged for regulated disposal. The property is prepared for chemical decontamination of remaining surfaces.
Phase 3
Atlas applies certified decontamination procedures to all remaining surfaces including walls, ceilings, subfloors, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, and ductwork interiors. Multiple cleaning passes are performed using methods and products appropriate for the specific surface materials and contamination levels. The goal is to reduce residue levels below the clearance threshold on the first attempt.
Phase 4
After decontamination is complete, Atlas coordinates with an independent industrial hygienist who performs post-remediation swab testing to verify that all surfaces are below Colorado's clearance standard. Atlas compiles the complete documentation package — pre-test results, remediation plan, scope of work performed, waste disposal manifests, and the final clearance report — and delivers it to the property owner for regulatory, insurance, and transaction purposes.

We had a roof leak in our kitchen caused by a roofer. Rob came out right away and assessed the issue and worked with myself and the roofer. That day he had made a plan for how the job would go, and began setting up equipment to keep my family safe. He walked me through every step of how the job would go and kept my husband and I informed throughout the process. He made sure that the toddler and newborn in my home would be safe throughout the entire demo process. I cannot recommend this company enough.

This is an honest place. There are so many disreputable companies out there in this industry, but Atlas is not one of them. Quick work, proper abatement to prevent contamination, and friendly service all come with the fairly priced Atlas contract. Nobody wants to have this work done because it usually means things have gone sideways in your home. That said, if you do, call Atlas Contracting and Environmental Solutions; the company is ACES!!!

Fast to set up, done promptly and tidy afterwards. Thanks
Most general contractors and cleaning companies are not equipped to handle meth contamination. The work requires specialized training, regulated waste disposal, containment protocols, and the ability to coordinate with industrial hygienists and regulatory agencies. Atlas brings all of these capabilities under one roof.
When contaminated materials need to come out — drywall, insulation, flooring, cabinetry — Atlas does not need to bring in a separate demolition contractor. The same certified team that handles decontamination also handles selective demolition, which keeps the project on schedule and under one chain of custody.
Every Atlas meth remediation project produces a complete paper trail: initial test results, remediation plan, daily work logs, waste manifests, and the independent clearance report. This package satisfies requirements from code enforcement, insurance adjusters, lenders, and title companies.
After clearance, most properties need reconstruction — new drywall, flooring, paint, and sometimes HVAC replacement. Atlas coordinates the restoration phase so the property moves from contaminated to occupiable without the owner managing multiple contractors and timelines.
Atlas provides certified meth decontamination services across the entire Colorado Front Range and beyond. The team regularly handles projects in Denver, Aurora, Colorado Springs, Lakewood, Thornton, Arvada, Westminster, Boulder, Greeley, Fort Collins, Loveland, Longmont, Castle Rock, Parker, Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Englewood, Brighton, and surrounding communities. Whether the contaminated property is a single-family home in Wheat Ridge or a multi-unit complex in Commerce City, Atlas deploys certified crews with the equipment, protocols, and documentation capability the project requires.
Meth contamination does not follow geographic boundaries. Atlas has responded to cleanup projects in rural mountain communities, suburban neighborhoods, urban apartment buildings, and commercial properties across the state. If you have a contaminated property anywhere in Colorado, contact Atlas to discuss the scope and get a project assessment scheduled.

Common questions about meth decontamination, clearance testing, and remediation costs in Colorado.
Meth lab cleanup is the certified decontamination of surfaces, materials, and building systems that have been exposed to methamphetamine production or heavy use residue. The process involves testing, containment, removal of contaminated materials, chemical decontamination, and post-remediation verification to confirm the property meets Colorado's clearance standards. Atlas performs this work under documented protocols that satisfy regulatory and lender requirements.
No. DIY meth cleanup is both dangerous and ineffective. Methamphetamine residue absorbs into porous surfaces like drywall, carpet, and insulation at a molecular level that household cleaners cannot reach. Colorado requires certified decontamination procedures, regulated waste disposal, and post-cleanup testing by an independent industrial hygienist. Attempting self-cleanup can spread contamination, create health exposure, and void future clearance testing.
Yes. Atlas supports decontamination of properties where meth was used heavily but never manufactured, as well as former lab sites. Heavy use can produce residue levels above Colorado's 0.1 µg/100 cm² clearance threshold, especially in enclosed rooms, ductwork, and bathrooms. Atlas assesses contamination levels through certified testing and performs the appropriate scope of decontamination regardless of how the contamination originated.
Most residential meth decontamination projects take between five and fifteen working days depending on the size of the property, the extent of contamination, and whether structural demolition is required. Larger commercial properties or multi-unit buildings with extensive ductwork contamination may take longer. Atlas provides a detailed timeline during the initial assessment so property owners can plan around the remediation schedule.
Costs vary based on contamination levels, property size, and the amount of material that needs removal versus chemical decontamination. A small residential unit with surface-level contamination may cost less than a multi-story property that requires full ductwork cleaning and drywall removal. Atlas provides itemized estimates after the initial assessment and testing phase so owners understand exactly what the scope covers before work begins.
Atlas structures every meth decontamination project to meet Colorado's regulatory clearance standards. Post-remediation testing is performed by an independent industrial hygienist who verifies that residue levels are below the state threshold. Atlas provides full documentation including pre-test results, scope of work performed, waste manifests, and the final clearance report — the complete package that lenders, insurers, and code enforcement require.
