Emergency Response
Water damage accelerates by the hour. Within the first 24 hours, drywall absorbs moisture deep into its core, hardwood floors begin to cup and buckle, and microbial growth initiates behind walls where you cannot see it. Atlas Contracting & Environmental Solutions maintains around-the-clock availability for Arvada residents and business owners facing burst pipes, appliance failures, storm surges, and flash flood intrusions. Our crews arrive equipped with truck-mounted extraction units capable of removing thousands of gallons per hour, giving your property the fastest possible path to stabilization.
Every water damage event is classified before work begins. Category 1 clean water from supply lines requires different handling than Category 2 grey water from dishwashers or washing machines, and both differ substantially from Category 3 black water involving sewage or floodwater contamination. Atlas technicians assess the water source, measure affected materials with penetrating and non-penetrating moisture meters, and build a scope of work that matches the contamination level. This classification-first approach prevents under-treatment of hazardous situations and avoids unnecessary demolition on clean-water losses.
Immediate Deployment
Immediate response for burst pipes, appliance overflows, and storm-related flooding in Arvada. Our dispatch center routes the nearest available crew to your property, typically arriving within 60 to 90 minutes of your call. We carry portable pumps, weighted extraction tools, and moisture detection instruments on every truck so work begins the moment we arrive.
Industrial Extraction
High-capacity industrial water extraction to remove standing water and prevent structural saturation. Truck-mounted units generate sustained vacuum pressure that pulls water from carpet, pad, hardwood, and concrete slab assemblies. We extract from the lowest point of the structure first, using floor wands and stair tools to reach every affected area without leaving residual moisture behind.
Structural Drying
Rapid deployment of air movers and dehumidifiers to stabilize the environment and prevent mold growth. We calculate the required drying capacity using IICRC S500 psychrometric standards, placing equipment at density ratios matched to the volume of the affected space. Daily monitoring with thermo-hygrometers and moisture meters tracks drying progress and triggers equipment adjustments as conditions change.
All Water Categories
Category 1, 2, and 3 (sewage) water cleanup handled with professional-grade sanitation. Black water events require antimicrobial application, affected porous material removal, and air scrubbing with HEPA filtration. We follow ANSI/IICRC S500 protocols for every contamination class, ensuring your property is restored to pre-loss sanitary conditions.
Sump Pump Failure Recovery
Specialized cleanup for flooded Arvada basements caused by sump pump failure or heavy rain. We pump out accumulated water, remove saturated carpet and pad, and set up axial air movers along wall perimeters to drive moisture out of concrete block and poured foundation walls. Many Arvada basements sit in high water table zones where sump pump redundancy is critical, and we advise on battery backup and secondary pump systems after every recovery.
Sewage & Biohazard Removal
Safe removal of raw sewage and biohazard contaminants using strict disinfection protocols. Sewage backups introduce dangerous bacteria, viruses, and parasites into your living space. Our technicians wear full PPE, isolate contaminated zones with polyethylene barriers, and apply hospital-grade antimicrobial treatments to every affected surface. All contaminated materials are bagged, sealed, and disposed of according to Jefferson County regulations.
Full Restoration
Structural drying and deodorization to restore your home to pre-loss condition. After extraction and drying, we address lingering odors caused by microbial activity and organic decomposition using thermal fogging and hydroxyl generator technology. Damaged drywall, insulation, and trim are replaced to match existing finishes. Atlas handles the full lifecycle from emergency mitigation through final reconstruction, so you work with one contractor from start to finish rather than coordinating between multiple vendors.
Basement & Sewage
Basement flooding is the most common water damage scenario Atlas handles in Arvada. The city sits along Ralston Creek and Van Bibber Creek, and properties near these drainages experience elevated flood risk during spring snowmelt and summer thunderstorms. Older neighborhoods in central and west Arvada frequently have aging clay sewer laterals that back up during high-volume rain events, sending raw sewage into finished basements.
Atlas responds to basement floods with a three-phase approach: immediate water removal and contamination containment, controlled structural drying with daily moisture documentation, and full reconstruction of damaged finishes. We photograph and catalog all affected contents for your insurance claim, generate Xactimate estimates that adjusters accept without negotiation, and communicate directly with your carrier throughout the process so you are not burdened with paperwork during an already stressful situation.
Sewage backup cleanup requires Category 3 protocols regardless of the volume of water involved. Even a small sewage intrusion contaminates porous materials including carpet, pad, particleboard, and lower drywall sections. Atlas removes all affected porous materials, treats structural framing and concrete with registered antimicrobial products, and verifies sanitary conditions with ATP surface testing before any reconstruction begins.
Every restoration project follows a documented, repeatable process designed to minimize damage, maximize insurance recovery, and return your property to pre-loss condition as quickly as possible.
1
Our technicians arrive with moisture meters, thermal imaging cameras, and truck-mounted extractors. We classify the water source, map the full extent of saturation, and begin pumping immediately. Every affected material is documented with timestamped photos for your insurance file.
2
Industrial air movers and commercial-grade dehumidifiers are positioned according to IICRC drying standards. Antimicrobial treatments are applied to prevent mold colonization. We monitor moisture levels daily and adjust equipment placement until every material reaches its dry standard.
3
Once drying is verified, our construction team replaces damaged drywall, flooring, trim, and insulation. We match existing paint colors and finishes so repaired areas blend seamlessly with the rest of your home. Final clearance documentation is provided for your insurance and records.
Local Risk Factors
Arvada's geography and infrastructure create a unique combination of water damage risks that homeowners and commercial property owners should understand. The city spans a transitional zone between the Front Range foothills and the eastern plains, receiving both mountain runoff and localized thunderstorm precipitation that can overwhelm drainage systems within minutes. Neighborhoods along Ralston Creek, Van Bibber Creek, and Leyden Creek sit in designated flood zones where even moderate rainfall events can push water into crawl spaces and lower-level living areas.
Much of Arvada's housing stock was built between the 1960s and 1990s, an era when polybutylene supply lines, cast iron drain stacks, and clay sewer laterals were standard. These materials degrade over decades and frequently fail without warning. A burst polybutylene fitting can release hundreds of gallons into a finished basement within an hour. Aging clay laterals develop root intrusions and joint separations that allow sewage to back up during high-volume rain events. Atlas technicians see these failure patterns repeatedly across central Arvada, Arvada Plaza, and the Countryside neighborhoods.
Commercial properties along Wadsworth Boulevard and Ralston Road face additional risks from flat roof drainage failures and sprinkler system leaks. Atlas has restored retail spaces, medical offices, and restaurants throughout the Olde Town Arvada corridor and the Arvada Marketplace area. Our commercial division understands the urgency of minimizing business interruption and works extended hours to return your space to operational condition as quickly as possible.

We had a roof leak in our kitchen caused by a roofer. Rob came out right away and assessed the issue and worked with myself and the roofer. That day he had made a plan for how the job would go, and began setting up equipment to keep my family safe. He walked me through every step of how the job would go and kept my husband and I informed throughout the process. He made sure that the toddler and newborn in my home would be safe throughout the entire demo process. I cannot recommend this company enough.

This is an honest place. There are so many disreputable companies out there in this industry, but Atlas is not one of them. Quick work, proper abatement to prevent contamination, and friendly service all come with the fairly priced Atlas contract. Nobody wants to have this work done because it usually means things have gone sideways in your home. That said, if you do, call Atlas Contracting and Environmental Solutions; the company is ACES!!!

Common questions from Arvada homeowners about water damage costs, timelines, insurance claims, and emergency response.
Costs depend on the water category, extent of saturation, and required drying time. Average residential claims in Arvada range from $3,000 to $8,000 for a standard single-floor event. Atlas provides detailed Xactimate estimates that insurance adjusters accept, so you know the full scope before work begins.
Atlas Contracting & Environmental Solutions provides 24/7 water damage restoration throughout Arvada. We dispatch from our nearby headquarters, which means crews typically arrive within 60 to 90 minutes of your call — faster than most national franchises operating in the Denver metro.
With industrial-grade air movers and commercial dehumidifiers, most Arvada homes reach dry standard within 3 to 5 days. Atlas monitors moisture levels daily using penetrating and non-penetrating meters, adjusting equipment placement until every affected material passes clearance readings.
Yes. We document all damage with timestamped photographs, generate line-item Xactimate estimates, and communicate directly with your insurance adjuster throughout the claim. Many Arvada homeowners tell us this support is the most valuable part of our service because it removes the paperwork burden during an already stressful situation.
Mitigation is the emergency phase — water extraction, structural drying, and contamination containment that stops further damage. Restoration is the rebuild phase — replacing drywall, flooring, trim, and insulation to return your property to pre-loss condition. Atlas handles both under one contract so you avoid coordinating between separate companies.
Shut off the main water valve and electrical breakers if you can reach them safely. Then call a professional restoration company immediately — every hour of delay increases damage and cost. While you wait, document the affected areas with photos and move valuables to dry ground if it is safe to do so.
Yes, Atlas is certified for Category 3 black water remediation. Sewage cleanup requires full PPE, containment barriers, antimicrobial treatment, and HEPA air scrubbing. We remove all contaminated porous materials and verify sanitary conditions with ATP surface testing before any reconstruction begins.
Heavy spring rains and rapid snowmelt from the Front Range regularly overwhelm Arvada's storm drainage and aging sewer laterals, especially in neighborhoods near Ralston Creek and Van Bibber Creek. Sump pump maintenance and battery backup systems are critical for Arvada homeowners in high water table zones.
